Long Point Challenge
The Long Point Challenge was a new event for 2011. Run out of Collins Bay Yacht Club, the first edition was held on June 25-26 in 20-25 knots out of the southwest, with 4-5 foot seas on the lake. The course ran from the mouth of Collins Bay in Kingston, around either side of Amherst Island, out the Eastern Lake Ontario weather bouy, returning to CBYC for a total distance of 107 miles. The southwest breeze gave us a dead beat to the bouy, then a square run back home. Full story here.
